On 5th January 2014 the market square in Waldkirchen near Passau will be a hosting a truly spectacular event: the "Waldkirchen Rauhnacht".
Originally these horned sleds were used by the Alpine farmers. In winter they were used to transport wood or hay that had been stored in the huts on the mountainside.
